Okyram 32 is a fertilizer based on Copper Oxichloride.
The deficiency of Copper in the soil strongly affects crop production, causing a decrease in yields and crop quality.
Rice and wheat, the most cultivated cereals in the world, are very sensitive to this deficiency, but the same applies to other crops such as citrus fruits, oats, spinach, etc. The most effective strategy to counteract this deficiency is to provide Copper in the form of salts.
Copper is involved in different enzymatic systems where it cannot be replaced by any other metal ion. It is necessary in the metabolism of carbohydrates and nitrogen, it is involved in the formation of the cell wall, in electron transport, and in oxidation reactions. Copper also influences the synthesis of lignin which, in turn, affects lignification and the mechanical resistance of shoots.
