Copper is a micronutrient necessary for the health of plants and animals. The lack of Copper in the soil causes a decrease in yields and crop quality. Copper is involved in various enzymatic systems where it cannot be replaced by any other metal ion. It is necessary in the metabolism of Carbohydrates and Nitrogen, is involved in the formation of the cell wall, in electron transport, and in oxidation reactions. Copper deficiency is manifested by a decline in branches and shoots, yellowing of leaves, stunted growth, and pale green leaves that easily turn white.
